2005 Projects from the Reserve For Repairs and Renovaton (Hamilton Hall)

Project Information:

The main electrical switchgear unit in Hamilton Hall is located in the basement electrical room. This unit is in poor condition with rust and corrosion on external surfaces. The unit is 40 years old and spare parts are difficult to purchase. This poses an unreliable electrical system for the building, therefore we recommend replacing this unit with a similar size and additional circuit breaker space for the current renovation and for future needs

The existing switchgear configuration is 277/480 Volts 1600 Amp MLO and there is only one 200 amp space remaining.

A sample specification for the new switchgear unit can be found here.

The existing housekeeping pad is approximately 4' 6” wide and may need to be extended to accommodate the new switchgear unit.

The circuit breaker panel on the right of the switchgear unit and the disconnect switch on the left may need to be relocated, to accommodate the new switchboard.
