Project Information:

The ATN (Academic Technology & Networks) machine room is full and an expansion is needed. Directly below the room is room 37D that is to be converted from storage to a new computer networking equipment room.

•  Mechanical and Architectural Work: Add 2 new Sanyo ceiling mounted A/C units. See the above room for the unit type. Re-route condensate drain so that it does not flow to the new room located in the basement. Tap off the existing Halon system and route it to the new room. Remove the existing wood entrance door and replace it with a 3 hour fire rated door. This is to assure that the Halon will be contained in the room and not allowed to fill the adjacent conference room. New ceiling, wall paint and flooring is provided in this estimate. Asbestos abatement may be necessary when removing the old floor tile and is included here.

•  Electrical Work: Install lighting fixtures including emergency and exit lights, fed from panel (ULC). Install 2 shunt trip main breaker panels fed from existing panels in room above. Install utilization devices for server racks fed from new panels. Install branch circuits to Sanyo units from panel GLB located on the north wall of machine room, install shunt trip breakers on these circuits. Install EPO control panel and button to control shunt trip breakers described above. Extend fire alarm and telecom equipment as needed.
